Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery and Mader’s Restaurant have
partnered to create an authentic German Christkindlmarket to run from
Thursday, November 17 through Sunday, November 20 in downtown
Milwaukee, admission is free.
The event will be held at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery located
at 901 W. Juneau Ave. The
unique layout of Best Place allows for authentic events to take place both
indoors and outdoors.
Food and beverages include a variety of items such as schnitzel,
sauerbraten, strudel, bratwursts, potato pancakes, pretzels, soups,
roasted nuts, stollen, hot chocolate & Gluhwein (hot spiced wine). Of
course, there will an assortment German style beer from Lakefront Brewery and Pabst.
Over 20 vendors will be on hand selling items such as; steins, Hummel
figurines, Christmas ornaments, imported German chocolate candies,
cookies, gingerbreads, marzipan, Advent calendars, hand-sewn clothing,
spices, cheeses and wreaths. The Best Place gift shop will be open with a
selection of merchandise including shirts, hats, collectables, ornaments
Entertainment includes various polka bands, keg tapping ceremonies and stein holding contests.
Erich Adam strolls with his accordion. Peggy Mueller & Friends are in the house on
Thursday, Friday & Saturday. The Squeezettes bring their “power polka” sound to The Great Hall
stage Saturday evening. The Brewhaus Polka Kings, will wow the crowd on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday, a special Mass will be held at 10:00am. Sit with costumed storytellers,
decorate cookies, and join in on tree-lighting and keg-tapping ceremonies.
Take a picture with the statues of Captain Frederick Pabst and King Gambrinus, the Patron Saint of
Popular in cities such as Chicago, Baltimore & Denver it is now Milwaukee's turn to showcase its German heritage
and roots with a Christmas Market. What better place than Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery.
With their old world charm & hospitality in association with world famous Mader's Restaurant and their historic
past, this is an event not to be missed.
