It is the last stop on a long journey across Eastern Canada into the Northeast States ending up in the Midwest. Alternative folk-songstress Marta Pacek has been charming audiences the world over with her beautiful voice and honest and intimate songwriting. Armed with a collection of 11 new, original songs, written in her own beautifully intense and moody style, as well as a cover of Patty Griffin’s Nobody’s Crying, Marta is set to release her new album, Rebel Baby, on May 8. Following her release show that day in Toronto at the Rivoli, Marta will embark on an 18-date North American tour. Rebel Baby was a created while Marta was touring the U.S., Canada and Europe and therefore features the talents of many Canadian artists including; Justin Rutledge, Jason Mercer and Jerome Godboo. On her last visit, Marta filmed "A Girl Gets By" (co-written with Neil Murchison) which won the 2011 Best Alt Country Song award (National) at the Canberra Country Music Festival in Canberra, Australia.
